Taksang Monastry (The Tiger's Nest)

Punakha Dzong (The Fortress of Great Bliss)

Punakha Dzong meaning the fortress of Great Bliss, was built by in 1673 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel (the first spiritual & political leader of Bhutan) to commemorate the final victory against numerous Tibetan invasions. Located on a piece of land between two rivers Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu (literally meaning male and female rivers), the Dzong is massive, huge and magnificent in all its architectural grandeur. Although ravaged by flood, fire and earthquakes many times, the Dzong was always rebuilt with its original pattern and design.

Memorial Chorten (Stupa)

Thimphu City

Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and is one of the last few capital cities without traffic lights and the traffic managed by traffic policemen. Thimphu is the most populated city with about 100,000 people and truly a combination of the ancient and the modern. While strictly maintaining the traditional style of architecture in modern building, there are also very old temples and numerous monasteries in and around the city, and few discotheques and Karaoke.

Dochula Pass

The Dochula Pass is located at 3100m above sea level. The pass is decorated by 108 stupas. The stupas was concecrated to honor our victory over insurgents.

Phobjikha Valley

Glacial valley of Wangdue Phodrang district with elevation of 2900m above sea level. Also a winter home of majestic Black Necked Crane (migrating bird).

Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point)

Buddha Dordenma, which dipicts as indestructable buddha, is a statue of giant present sitting buddha oer looking the valley of Thimphu. In fact it is said to be the largest sitting buddha on earth. It is 51m tall made out of bronze with gold gilded.
